What was it like to sail from England to America with the Harvey Family?

This article from the Ensign, May 2015 tells the story of the Saints crossing the ocean on The Amazon, which is the ship the Harvey sailed on with other members of the church bound for Utah. Click on this link to read more.

Mary Bosworth and James Smuin Harvey

Introduction

This site is dedicated to the descendants of James Smuin Harvey and Mary Bosworth Harvey. Most of the information I have has been gathered by my mother, who is a grand daughter of James and Mary, through their son Brigham.

James Smuin Harvey was born 1 Nov 1858, in London, England. Mary Bosworth Harvey was born 20 May 1871, in Kaysville, Utah. Their children are Mary, Ray, Brigham, Alpheus, Ruth, Glen, Dorritt and James.

My hope is that their descendants will use this site to help each of us to better get to know our ancestors in the Harvey, Bosworth, Smuin and other related lines. I was once told, by a genealogist, that although we would see many uses for the computer, its real purpose was for aiding in genealogy. My how it has! Not only can we keep pedigrees straight, the internet is a source of information that puts "flesh on the bones" of these predecessors of ours.

Since we all have our own information and experiences with ancestors, limited or abundant, I hope you will share them here, offer corrections or fill in blanks as we go along. If you have photos or documents to post, please send them to me at jnseamons@plmw.com. If you would like to be a co-author, contact me at that email address and we can set that up.

Thanks,
Necia Palmer Seamons
